PACE SUPPORT

Community Participation

One of the most popular NDIS supports utilised is assistance in community participation. This is because it is so important for participants to be able to get out and about in the community and do the things they want. In fact, participating in community activities has many positive benefits. This includes greater independence and confidence, as well as gaining a sense of achievement when community participation goals are met.

As everyone has different interests, it is so important that each participant decides what it is they want to do. This could be to meet new people, try new things, join a club, learning a new skill or even becoming a volunteer.

Some popular activities include:

  • Catch up with friends
  • Go on a shopping trip
  • Volunteer – eg at a café
  • Take up a new hobby
  • Go to a football game
  • Go to the movies
  • Learn to cook
  • Join a club
  • Go fishing
  • Visit a cafe
  • Play golf
  • Visit the zoo
  • Go to the park
  • Visit the gym
  • Go swimming

At Pace Support our role is to provide the support needed for NDIS participants to do these activities. This includes transport to the activities as well as support during the activity.
